  29. [00:56:53] <Jefro> I was also not able to get my xM working using setup_sdcard.sh. There are two methods I recommend. One is for setting up a development environment, if e.g. you want to create new drivers etc. For that, use the rootstock method described on that page.
  30. [00:57:52] <Jefro> If you just want to get Ubuntu running on your board, I highly recommend rsalveti's pre-installed images (link shortly)
  31. [00:58:40] <Jefro> https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/OMAPMaverickInstall

  196. [02:13:31] <ds2> I think that might have something to do with it (line 27)
  197. [02:14:33] <rcn-ee> yeap, and that's comming from nand flash....
  198. [02:14:58] <rcn-ee> brolin, since the auto reflash is failing, here's the steps it's actually trying to do: http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#Manual_Run
  199. [02:15:31] <ds2> rcn-ee: doesn't the u-boot in circulation still honor the NAND config? if so, a equiv of the cisco write erase should fix this
  200. [02:15:41] <brolin> rcn-ee: look at the filesystem http://pastebin.com/uBBLG5SE
  201. [02:15:47] <cwicks> Hello - Brian_Leipprandt, are you still working on BeagleDVR?
  202. [02:16:00] <Brian_Leipprandt> yes
  203. [02:16:00] <rcn-ee> ds2, yeah it does... which is tripping everything up..
  204. [02:16:27] <brolin> the command that works was mmc init
  205. [02:16:41] <ds2> rcn-ee: nand erase at the right sector; I don't have the config address range handy :(
  206. [02:16:42] <cwicks> Brian_Leipprandt - how is it going do you have any technical questions today? Katie and Jason are on w/ others
  207. [02:17:07] <rcn-ee> brolin, it looks like everything is safely there, and read able.. do a "nand erase 260000 20000" to erase the nand sector, then "reset" with the user button pushed.. it should auto flash..
  208. [02:17:26] <rcn-ee> (that just erases the nand boot env variables)
  209. [02:17:39] <brolin> ok
  210. [02:17:52] <Brian_Leipprandt> Its going well, I've been having a busy year, we have the TV tuner module running on x86 linux, and have it compiling but not quite working yet on the beagle. Hopefully after thanksgiving that will be changed.

  577. [11:01:13] <av500> mru: http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2010-05/msg01497.html
  578. [11:01:24] <av500> seems they are going mainline gcc ....
  579. [11:02:46] <av500> hitlin37: sorry, make what?
  580. [11:03:07] <av500> hitlin37: why dont you use the gcc from the NDK?
  581. [11:03:19] <aholler> oh no, what they have done to gcc and/or linux?
  582. [11:03:39] <hitlin37> i need to use armcc because code is highly armcc dependent
  583. [11:04:16] <av500> android is to linux what the what the Boston Strangler was to a woman alone....
  584. [11:04:19] <aholler> bionic reads like they are using some genetic algorithms ;)
  585. [11:04:41] <av500> hitlin37: armcc dependent c code?
  586. [11:04:48] <hitlin37> at one point of time even my cross compiler told me "use ARM toolchain" for some particualar section
  587. [11:04:58] <hitlin37> assembly code
  588. [11:06:25] <mru> av500: as you can see, it's just changing defaults for a few existing flags
  589. [11:07:46] <av500> fine then :)
  590. [11:09:22] <aholler> maybe we need a -moe, -msuse, -mdebian, -mrh too ;)
  591. [11:09:36] <mru> yeah, it's a worrying trend

  596. [11:11:34] <mru> you need to link your .so against the android libs
  597. [11:11:57] <mru> it looks like you built a .so in normal linux and now you're trying to link to it from android

  603. [11:14:01] <hitlin37> ya..armcc is totally different...i spend a lot of time on this
  604. [11:14:27] <aholler> hmm, you can't cancel threads on android...
  605. [11:14:32] <av500> aholler: yep
  606. [11:14:36] <mru> that's a good thing
