cyanogen is mostly stock android

something or another about needing a kernel config file from the rowboat source

just that TI uses make, and they use lunch like the rest of the android world :D

lunch?

yea lol
- [16:53:34] <borillion>

I can't confirm, but I don't see why you'd be trying to power it with 6V when it is clearly marked for 5V :)

batteriology?
- [18:10:15] <cbrake>
prpplague: on the SDIO Mux? We had the 2nd channel going to a wifi chip
- [18:10:17] <ds2>
"12V" tend to be LA which goes up to about 13.8
- [18:10:29] <cbrake>
prpplague: we've since changed the design to use MMC3 for the wifi chip
- [18:10:42] <ds2>
'6V' can range from 4.8V up to 6.9V depending on the chemistry
- [18:11:12] <prpplague>
cbrake: ahh ok
- [18:11:18] <ds2>
and if you are stuck, a 4.3V zener, plus a 2N3055 sitting around can work as a quick and dirty regulator
- [18:11:20] <prpplague>
cbrake: so you left the traces?
- [18:11:25] <prpplague>

- [18:11:38] <cbrake>

- [18:12:12] <cbrake>
prpplague: the next rev will switch to the TXS0206 on both channels
- [18:12:20] <cbrake>
ds2: MMC == SDIO in this case
- [18:12:22] <prpplague>
cbrake: ahh ok
- [18:12:32] <prpplague>
cbrake: i've been cap'n the second channel to ground
- [18:12:33] <ds2>
cbrake: I know MMC == SDIO, but why did you choose to use that?
- [18:12:37] <cbrake>
ds2: the kernel and the OMAP use the term "MMC" to refer to these interfaces
- [18:12:38] <ds2>
performance?
- [18:12:47] <ds2>
or was there some other reason?
- [18:13:54] <cbrake>

- [18:13:57] * rcranetx (~rcranetx@nat/ti/x-dkryefvhgsxmvjrg) has joined #beagle
- [18:13:59] <cbrake>
ds2: is that your question?
- [18:14:27] <ds2>
cbrake: no... most chips, including the WL1271 also has a SPI port which is easier to level shift...hence the reason I am wondering why you went with the SDIO route
- [18:15:02] <cbrake>
ds2: ahh, performance, and I assume driver support is more mature with the SDIO mode as that is what most people use
- [18:15:09] <cbrake>
ds2: but 2nd part is an assumption
- [18:15:28] <ds2>
cbrake: IIRC, that driver started out as SPI.
- [18:15:35] <ds2>
'k, just wondering
- [18:15:35] <av500>
sdio is faster, no?
- [18:15:48] <ds2>
sdio can be faster if you using all the pins AND the driver supports it
- [18:15:55] <cbrake>
ds2: also, WL1271 and OMAP are both 1.8V interfaces (MMC3), so no level shifter is needed
- [18:16:05] <cbrake>
ds2: we only need the level shifter for the user slots
- [18:17:04] <cbrake>
ds2: I did not realize SPI was a viable option from a driver standpoint, good to konw
- [18:19:14] <ds2>
cbrake: gotcha. I have always been curious why everyone seem to want to fight SDIO when there are easier ways
- [18:19:24] <cbrake>

i'm tring to set up a local repo
- [20:34:48] <jconnolly>
just add a conf to /etc/opkg with your repo url and give it a unique name, like src/gz myrepo http://path/to/my/repo
- [20:35:53] <jconnolly>
it parses /etc/opkg/*.conf for feed urls, determines dependencies, preferred providers, etc, and picks the package with the most recent version or is preferred, or has the highest PR
- [20:36:03] <jconnolly>
I use a local feed frequently for testing
- [20:36:57] <xxiao>
jconnolly: thanks. but it's annoying that it's complaining some http(not my local one) are not reachable
- [20:37:15] <xxiao>
jconnolly: maybe i should remove all those and just keep a few that is valid
- [20:37:34] <jconnolly>
well, don't remove the ones defining arch
- [20:37:38] <xxiao>
jconnolly: i assume opkg will check any files under /etc/opkg that is *.conf
- [20:37:52] <jconnolly>
and if you have a pastebin with the specific output of opkg update I may be able to help
- [20:38:08] <xxiao>

- [20:38:59] <jconnolly>
ok. definitely don't delte arch.conf though
